Automation Engineer

We're partnered with an established international manufacturing organisation hunting for an Automation Engineer who will play a key role in advancing digitalisation across industrial operations.

Working within a central Operational Technology team, you will contribute to the development and digital models and modular automation solutions. These are used to support multiple production sites globally, with a particular focus on regional facilities.

The position centres around modern SCADA and data infrastructure technologies, including platforms such as AVEVA KEPServer and Siemens TIA Portal.

Beyond core platform work, the role takes a broader perspective - covering data collection, system integration, and enabling insights through reporting and analytics. The engineer will also support integration with wider enterprise systems, such as Manufacturing Execution System solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Designing and implementing data logging, Historian, and SCADA solutions across multiple sites
• Translating business needs into technical concepts aligned with internal standards
• Installing, configuring, and continuously improving automation systems
• Supporting operational environments and troubleshooting issues
• Collaborating with external system integrators and internal stakeholders
• Managing system updates and monitoring performance
• Driving standardisation and adoption of industry best practices
• Supporting integration with other business applications

Your profile:

• Degree in engineering (or equivalent practical experience and certifications)
• Strong hands-on experience with AVEVA technologies (System Platform, Historian, OMI)
• Familiarity with industrial connectivity tools and databases (e.g., Kepware, SQL)
• Experience with PLC systems, particularly Siemens environments
• Understanding of industrial networks; exposure to cybersecurity concepts is advantageous
• Comfortable working in a multilingual, international environment
• Analytical mindset with a pragmatic, hands-on approach
